My experiences with animals
Even as a child I had many animal friends, including our farmer's cat who always came to visit and whom I simply called "Mietzi". Mietzi later had babies and one day she was gone. I grew up in an animal home with cats, dogs, hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and a cockatiel named "Coco". I also enjoyed keeping company with cows, pigs and horses.
I was regularly and punctually thrown out of bed early in the morning at the same time by the rooster crowing and sometimes even a chicken got lost outside my room window (always the same confused chicken :-))
I gained my reptile experience with lizards, bearded dragons and snakes (boa & my own king snake)
I have lived with animals for as long as I can remember and realized very early on that I really enjoy spending time with the animal inhabitants of the earth and have learned to care for them and look after them. That hasn't changed to this day. I adopted my current cats, 17 and 14 years old, when they were young kittens. They are like my children.
Not a day goes by without something exciting or chaotic and beautiful happening :-) And when I'm not surrounded by cats, there are other protégés who, due to their size, are better off in the pasture than in our living room. There are two sponsored cows, a sponsored pig and a horse.
I love animals and nature, I have been a vegan for a long time out of conviction and not out of trend, and I live happily and modestly with my husband in our cat household.
In short: I am a country bumpkin with a big heart for animals through and through.
The idea of being a cat sitter
The reason I became active was that I was initially looking for a sitter for our kitties. Every pet owner knows this. You want to go on vacation or suddenly have to go away for a few days and you're chatting up all sorts of people. Family, friends, neighbors and in the end no one has time, as it is.
A cat boarding facility or sometimes the animal shelter may not have space or you simply don't want to put up with your pets for various reasons and want to have them looked after in a relaxed manner at home in familiar surroundings with the usual routine.
Then I said to my cats: "Mietzis? What do you think about me helping other cat owners and taking care of theirs? "Look after the animals while they're away?" They gave me their MIAU approval and that's how it all started. I realized that I really enjoyed looking after animals and that it was what I wanted.
So I decided to do professional training as a cat sitter and with that I launched CATS AND LITTLE PETS in the summer of 2022, for me the best job in the world :-)
This was later followed by an additional upgrade to cat family advisor. With further and always up-to-date training courses on the subject of cats and small mammals, I keep myself on my toes and am always up to date.
